nice guess, but wrong method
here's what was done,
we first reconstructed the whole eyeball (done by flipping the eyes and copying necessary portions) on new layer.

then we paint the original eyeballs with white and then shift the eyeball (which is on new layer) into whatever direction we want.

yes, it takes some time, but is worth it.
