All Viru Show on Day 3 at Chennai Test
Friday March 28, 2008 is a day which all the spectators present at MAC stadium in Chennai will remember for a long long time. It was a One Man Show in MAC stadium. Virendra Sehvag, started his day from where he left yesterday. Sehvag was unbeaten yesterday at 52 runs and went back to the pavilion at the end of the days play at a score of 309 not out. Wasim Jaffer was the only batsman to be dismissed today. He was caught in the slip by Kallis off the bowling of Harris. He made 73 runs off 251 balls before getting out. Rahul Dravid ended the day with a score of 65 not out off 181 balls. But it was Sehvag’s day today. He played shots all around the ground. Bowlers seemed helpless while he was at the crease. Sehvag’s 309 came from 292 balls only at more than run a ball. Greame Smith, the South African captain, tried everything to slow him down or get him out but nothing worked out for him. Paul Harris was bowling to a negative line to Sehvag, pitching the balls outside the line of leg stump. Smith tried 6 bowlers today but none of them left any effects at Sehvag. He (viru) kept hitting them for boundaries. Sehvag hit 41 fours and 5 sixes to reach 309 runs. Now, everyone is expecting Sehvag to break the world record 401(not out) by Brian Lara made against England. Source: CricketXtra |
