Beginning with the death of her beloved father, the actor Laurence Harvey (THE MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE), Domino develops into a hard-nosed, scrappy young woman who trains with nunchucks beside her mother's luxurious pool and responds violently to anyone who crosses her. Bored with the runway and the glamorous LA life, Domino shows up for a bounty-hunter seminar. Catching the "teachers" of the seminar as they try to cut and run with the proceeds, she manages to win their respect and joins their team. This consists of Ed Mosbey (Mickey Rourke), the tough-as-nails leader and Domino's surrogate father, and Choco (Edgar Ramirez), an impulsive Venezuelan who harbors a not-so-secret love for Domino. The three form a kind of family, working under Claremont Williams (Delroy Lindo), who "plays Charlie to their three angels." For a time they are unstoppable, even agreeing to let the slimy Mark Heiss (Christopher Walken) produce a reality-TV show about them, which is hilariously hosted by Ian Ziering and Brian Austin Green (BEVERLY HILLS 90210). But when Claremont orchestrates a complicated inside job in order to raise the money for his granddaughter's doctor bills, the precarious balance within the trio is disturbed. It’s a low budget cheap, exploitative, smutty film filled with gore and boobs. As any great director knows, men can get excited watching paint dry as long as there is the promise of a pair of tits every five minutes. Or as Fred Olen Ray (Director of Evil Toon’s) so eloquently points out…”"nudity is the cheapest special effect going". Eternal Evil of Asia has all these outstanding features and more! HK Cat III ghost stories are as common as maggots in a city dump and often just as offensive. However, all it takes is a sensationalist title and a picture of a half naked Asian girl on the cover and we misogynistic pigs lay our money down every time. Often the films don’t deliver; the promise of the DVD cover is the only excitement we get. Not so with Eternal Evil of Asia. Although the film has a number of poor moments the movie is filled with thrills, chills and boobs. The pace is good, the story simple but fluid and the cast are great. Ellen Chan is beautiful; and throughout the film I was forever wishing she would take her damned bra off. And boy, does the final scene deliver. Ms Chan surely goes on record for having one of the most prolonged and weird sex scenes in the history of cinema. Her outstanding features are on display and her acting is pretty fine too! Lily Chung (Daughter of Darkness) is cast as a white witch, but she stays clothed…which is a first! The guys in the cast are terrific and experienced HK Cat III veterans. Elvis Chu (Chinese Erotic Ghost Story) is a real dick…full pun intended. The Eternal Evil Of Asia is well directed, often stupid, and a terrific example of sexploitation at it’s worse…um, no best! There is no artistic value, no deep meaning, but there’s lots of sex and sexual innuendo, and gore too. What more can you ask for? …oh did I mention Ellen Chan is beautiful. She really is! Code:
